Latham Aviators Fly off to War

LATHAM, N.Y. -- The first five of ten UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters from 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation head out in flying formation from the Latham Army Aviation Support Facility #3 on their way to Fort Sill, Okla.
Approximately 40 pilots and crew-members bid final farewells to family and were rendered salutes by other aviation Soldiers.
The 142nd Aviation will train-up at Fort Sill for about two months before leaving for Iraq.
