NEW YORK CITY-- Rufus Lekala, Harbormaster for the Port of Durban, South Africa, listens to Captain Robert Pouch of the New York Naval Militia explain the capabilities of PB 400 during a visit to New York City on June 5.
Lekala was in New York last week as part of a South African delegation participating in a State Partnership Program port security event. As part of that event the South African team met with various interagency partners responsible for the security of New York Harbor.
PB400 is one of the New York Naval Militia boats which is on call to conduct harbor security missions and assist the United States Coast Guard when required.
In civilian life, Pouch is also a commissioner on the Board of Commissioners of Pilots of New York State.
