109th Airmen return from Antarctic Mission

STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE-- An LC-130 "Skibird" assigned to the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing taxies to the hanger at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, New York on Wednesday night, Feb. 24 as the crew returns from a deployment to Antarctica and New Zealand. Three aircraft and their crews conducted missions moving 148 researchers and support staff and 63,000 pounds of critical cargo to facilities in Antarctica between November and February. They also conducted three medical evacuation missions.
